Prices and dates

Rands, all in, no hidden kit fee. Every product, every pin and the touch-up pouch are part of the price. Nobody should have to ask for a quote to learn the basics.

The list

What each chair costs

Times are what the chair takes on the morning. I plan your timeline from them, and you can too.

The paperwork, short

Holding a date

One wedding a day, never two, so a held date is held for you alone.

Deposit
30% holds the date. It isn't refundable, but it can be moved once, to a new date within 12 months.
Balance
Due 7 days before the wedding.
Peak Saturdays
October to March, Saturdays carry a minimum spend of R6,500. In practice that's the bride and two more faces.
How far ahead
Bookings open 14 months ahead. Summer Saturdays usually go 8 to 10 months out.
Trial timing
Booked 6 to 10 weeks before the wedding, with your chart in writing within 3 days.

Faces and timing

Count backwards from when the photographer arrives. The bride is always the second-last chair.

Say it's you and four bridesmaids, everyone in both chairs, and I'm working alone. Your 150 minutes plus four times 75 comes to 450 minutes, seven and a half hours. With a photographer arriving at 14:00, the first chair is at 06:30 and I'm setting up at 05:45. Over six faces, Nomsa comes along, two chairs run at once, and the morning gets close to half as long.

Said plainly, with reasons

What I turn down

Most of these I've been asked for more than once. The answer is still no, and here's why.

  • The bride on the day without a trial firstThe trial is where I learn what your skin and hair do in daylight. Small ceremony bookings include one, so it never comes up there.
  • More than 10 faces at one weddingPast ten, someone gets rushed, and rushed faces are the ones that crease by the speeches.
  • Two weddings on the same dayYour morning gets all of me, including the hour after the ceremony if you want it.
  • Haircuts, colour, or sourcing and fitting bonded extensionsThat's a salon's craft, not mine. Clip-ins you already own are very welcome.
  • Matric dances, shoots and partiesWeddings and ceremonies only. The chart, the timing and the kit are all built for one kind of morning.
  • Makeup on children under 8, and anything more than light up to 12Small faces don't need it. Flower girls get simple hair only, and look best looking like themselves.
  • Heavy full-coverage airbrush looksIt reads flat in Cape daylight and sits heavy in the summer heat. I build thin, on purpose.
  • Any booking in JulyI close for the whole month. My note about it is on the contact page.
